Chances are you have taken prescription medication at some point in your life. Hopefully it was temporary for something like an ear infection or other bacterial malady - but nevertheless you had to take it.
Well, like millions of Americans you are not alone. And like all Americans I have an opinion about taking prescription medication. Is it healthy in the long run taking questionable prescription medication? I absolutely see the value in taking prescription medication for life threatening health issues although I would prefer to find an alternative from taking prescription medication at all. So far the research indicates that in the large part people are getting expected results when they take their medication. Then there's the whole realm of "mind drugs" that are really questionable as to what can happen when you don't take your prescription medication mind drug properly and regularly. That's what scares me about those kinds of prescription pills - you can have unexpected reactions - and in some instances people have committed suicide because they stopped taking their medication and fell into an unexpected reaction which was the feeling of overwhelming depression.
I think that to be sane in this present society you must respect the scientific effort that has gone into trying to help people deal with their health issues - whether physical or mental - and accept the fruit of that effort which is the medical system including prescription medications. Now in the age of the internet people are learning to think more clearly because of the influence of the exactness of computer and internet data. I know it has helped me because I used to be very negative about prescription medication.
Elvis Presley died from abusing both physical and mental prescription medication. I used to let my emotions direct my thinking about the idea of taking prescription medication and I was convinced that it was one of the worst afflictions on humanity. But then as I fine-tuned my thinking processes in reaction to the logic of computers I began to remove emotional opinion from my thinking and tried to just use real, researched facts to arrive at a conclusion. From my research and from my thinking about it I have to conclude that prescription medication is the best way to deal with health issues of all types, but at the same time I am only personally going to take prescription medication as a last resort. .
