Being a resident of Arizona I’m very familiar with the stories of retired people going across the border for the only reason of buying from a discount drug store. Even the border towns of Nogales and Tijuana, Mexico have more than one discount drug store. To the Mexican people these are just normal places to buy pharmaceuticals but for Americans they are a Mecca of solutions for the person who is stricken with an ailment that requires routine medication that in the states costs a fortune. Mexico in general has affordable health services, which is a reason that many near the border in America get dental work and discount meds there.

For those near the Mexican border it may be in your best interest to start going international for your medication needs. Be aware that strict drug regulations are not in effect in Mexico so almost all drugs are available. For some this is good but realize that an FDA approval means nothing in a Mexican discount drug store. Research what you need before hand and do not take any substitutes.
